Sara Stewart

I have no memory of not identifying myself as a witch. One of my earliest memories was being mesmerized by the house of the local witch, Circe, that was across the street from the Toledo Ohio public library. On her porch was a large, cast iron cauldron. After many pleading requests, my mother took us into Circe’s house to visit her little apothecary, which was in the front room of her house. The walls were covered with jars of unknown mysteries, and I was hooked on the idea of there being real magic in the world. I understood, at my young age, that there were secrets that only some could know.

My parents backyard was filled with violets, and I remember lying on my tummy and looking at the little, humble flowers. I have always had a deep love of these flowers, as they were my first real teachers on the path to herbalism and botanical magic.

Over the years, I’ve walked the path of both seeker and teacher, blending the intuitive with the academic. I hold a degree in anthropology with a focus on ethnobotany—the study of how humans connect with plants—and I’m a certified herbalist with decades of experience working with medicinal herbs, ceremony, and the wisdom of the earth.

I’m also a writer, educator, and entrepreneur, the founder of Boulder Tea Company and Three Leaf Farm, where I grow organic herbs and teach classes on plant medicine, ritual, and sacred living. My work is rooted in both science and spirit, and my calling is to help others remember what their ancestors knew: that healing, wisdom, and magic are all around us.

About the Farm
Three Leaf Farm is where everything begins. It’s a working farm first, growing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers for our own restaurants, for the farmers market, and for our CSA members. The fields are busy with planting, harvesting, and the company of our goats, horses, chickens, bees, and the farm dogs and cats who think they run the place.

The farm is also a botanical sanctuary and education center, home to medicinal plants and pollinator gardens. Throughout the year, we welcome the community here for farm dinners, private events, workshops on gardening, herbalism, art, and old-fashioned homesteading skills—ways to connect more deeply with nature and the seasons.

Luna Magicka is simply the farm’s more secret garden. While Three Leaf Farm shares its food, plants, and practical knowledge, Luna Magicka invites you into the heart of the farm’s magic—the turning of the seasons, the wisdom of the plants, and the beauty of living in harmony with the earth.
